Project Concept

offshore wind

20MW Offshore Wind Project Concept:

    • Project nameplate capacity is 20MW and is scalable based on power needs
    • Project aims to use floating offshore wind technology to provide renewable wind power to offshore oil production platforms instead of platforms burning diesel fuel or natural gas for onboard power needs
    • Floating steel foundations supporting the wind turbine generators will be anchored to the seabed thru suction anchors and tether lines
    • Inter Array Cables will be laid between turbines
    • Export cables will be laid to offshore platforms to deliver renewable power
    • A second export cable line will be laid to shore to provide the excess power to the local grid
    • Project is flexible and can be further paired with onshore or offshore battery storage facilities to flatten power demand fluctuations, hence ensuring grid stability
